This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company developing a suite of engineering software used by some of the largest global energy companies. Technology and innovation is at the heart of the organisation, and is reflected in an ethos of continual improvement and investment.
This internship is open to 3rd or 4th year year BE Mechanical students who are interested in this industry. We are looking for 2-3 interns to join us immediately.

We value a strong team culture. The team follows agile methodologies, working in two-week sprints, collaborating on design, and peer reviewing each other’s code before it is committed. We ensure broad knowledge of our code base by providing opportunities for team members to work on any part of the system. Formal communications are ensured through a daily stand-up meeting, with regular adhoc meetings and discussions taking place throughout the working day. Mostly working from home, we use Microsoft Teams for day-to-day interactions.

Your role as a software developer will include:

You will be involved in a combination of investigating and fixing issues in the existing software and developing new functionality.

You will need to communicate and agree solutions, technologies and designs with developers.

As well as writing code and unit tests you will review other developers designs and code.

An active member of the team, you will provide help and support to the other developers, and input into improving the development process and standards.
Skills and experience:

2+ years' experience in software engineering

Educated to degree level, or equivalent industry experience

The candidate must have achieved a higher Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical/Material/Civil Engineering, to start a career in Oil & Gas (Subsea pipeline & offshore structure) and Automotive engineering services.

The postgraduate internship will allow the fresh graduate to get involved in the development of various projects related to subsea pipeline, offshore structure and automotive design & manufacturing services.
In this role, you will be exposed to the complete development cycle - from initial concept through to final design - using our in-house developed state-of-the-art software and commercial numerical tools like ANSYS and Abaqus.

The ideal candidate will have:

Master’s Engineering Degree/PhD in Mechanical/Material/Civil Engineering

Strong written and communication skills, including the ability to write clear and detailed technical reports and presentations, and to clearly communicate complex technical issues

Excellent problem-solving skills

Knowledge of C/C++ programming would be an added advantage.
Your role as a post-graduate intern will include:

Familiarize yourself with iDG10 Engineering Solutions' in-house engineering software (e.g. SPDT)

Be involved in subsea pipeline, offshore structure, and automotive industrial projects in delivering solutions from the conceptual to the detailed design phase

Preparing detailed reports of the work carried out and presenting to the clients

Contributing to the development of company engineering software and processes
